The pulsating current of fire is the power of necromancy. It establishes a tethered connection (portal) to hell. It is how the man of sin (man of lawlessness, son of perdition, Antichrist) enters the world through a vessel (host). It is part of the communication network of Leviathan, a fire breathing dragon depicted in cartoons such as Spike, the Dragon.
